What is the KONUS guest card?

A guest card that lets overnight visitors in the Black Forest use buses and regional trains in the region free of charge — provided the accommodation takes part in the KONUS system and levies a visitor's tax.

Does Black Forest Dream provide the Hochschwarzwald Card?

No. From us you receive the KONUS guest card for public transport free of charge. The Hochschwarzwald Card is a separate, paid offering from the Hochschwarzwald holiday region and is not issued through us — you can add it yourself directly from the region if you wish.

Guest Card — Free Through the Black Forest

These are two different cards. You receive the KONUS guest card free of charge as an overnight guest in a participating accommodation that levies a visitor's tax; it serves as your ticket on buses and regional trains in the Black Forest. The Hochschwarzwald Card is a separate, paid offering from the holiday region and covers admissions — we do not issue it.

The KONUS guest card — free bus & train travel

KONUS stands for “Kostenlose Nutzung des ÖPNV für Schwarzwald-Urlauber” (free use of public transport for Black Forest holidaymakers) — and that is exactly what it is. Anyone staying in a participating accommodation in the Black Forest and paying the visitor’s tax travels free of charge on buses and regional trains throughout the entire Black Forest region with the KONUS guest card.

That is doubly practical:

Saving: No tickets for trips to Titisee, Schluchsee, Freiburg or Todtnau
Travelling in a relaxed way: You leave the car behind and do not have to worry about parking on busy days — a real advantage, especially at the Feldberg on summer weekends

At Black Forest Dream you receive the KONUS guest card directly as part of registration — public transport throughout the entire Black Forest region is thus included for your stay.

The Hochschwarzwald Card — free entry to many attractions

While the KONUS card covers public transport, the Hochschwarzwald Card is a separate guest card of the Hochschwarzwald holiday region. With it, entry to numerous attractions in the region is free or reduced — from mountain railways and bathing lakes to museums and adventure facilities.

It is an optional, paid offering from the Hochschwarzwald holiday region and is not issued through us. From Black Forest Dream you receive the KONUS guest card for free public transport; the Hochschwarzwald Card you can add separately, directly from the region, if you are interested — together with the KONUS card, you can get the most out of your holiday budget.
